Many Faces of Maggie

Brad and I aren't partial or anything but we think we have a pretty cute little girl. Mom got some up-close and personal pictures of Maggie while they were visiting this weekend. Here they are...
The next three were taken early in the morning (6am ish) while being held by Gampaw. Maggie was really "talking" with him and smiling. :)

Gone Fishin'

This past weekend we took Brody to a park here in Frisco that has a fishing pound. Both Brad and I thought he would enjoy his first experience but unfortunately, Brody lost interest real quick. He preferred to go exploring in the woods. We both hope that his thoughts will change because Brad and I love fishing.

Waiting (impatiently) for a bite.
Reeling in some moss.
Exploring.
My two "homies".

The Bumbo

Even though Maggie isn't quite strong enough to hold her head up we still tried out the Bumbo seat. Brody helped out some as you can see in the photos too. He also requested (ummm...demanded) that Maggie suck on her pacifier. Notice the evil grin??

I like Maggie's facial expressions in all these pictures. More Bumbo trials to come....

The Moby Wrap

After having Maggie I didn't realize how difficult it is to chase around a toddler while holding a newborn. I needed a third arm just to keep up with the two little ones. I've tried using the Baby Bjorn but it doesn't have any lower back support. With my disc problems I really need any support I can get. I started looking into slings or wraps and found The Moby. It is a really long piece of knit fabric that you wrap and twist around your body to make different holding styles. Currently, Maggie and I use the newborn hug hold and the kangaroo hold. It is really comfortable and Maggie seems to like it. I know it looks odd but I don't really care...if Maggie isn't happy...nobody is happy! :)

Beauty School Dropout

Brad has super thick hair and when it gets long it tends to "fro" out. He has to get it cut every couple of weeks and he feels that the "stylist" doesn't get it short enough. So, I normally have the job of taking the clippers to cut his hair even more. Brad sits in the tub (with shorts on) and buzz buzz! Today...Brody got to take over.

Notice how the clippers are backwards?
Take a little off the top please.
Don't forget the neck!

High Ho, High Ho it's off to school I go...

Well, yesterday Brody had his first day of Preschool Pals at our church. Everything went great! His teacher, Ms. Lisa, said he actually slept for about 30 minutes...what??? Brody take a nap...on the floor...with people he doesn't know? Crazy! He must have been super sleepy. Unfortunately, he did not take a nap when we got home. Yikes! Anyway, below are some pictures of our first day of school.

Here's Brody sitting in a book shelf container that normally has books in it. He's also holding his favorite stuffed animals, "Puppy" and "Bear." Oh, this was taken the morning of school. That's Maggie in the back ground.
What a cheese ball...
Sorry that the picture is blurry, it was very humid that morning.
The little stinker stole my apple and ate most of it.
Ahhh...walking down the long hall to his class room. Both Brad, Maggie and myself escorted our little man to his room. There weren't any tears (at least ones we didn't see) shed by Brody but there was a look of confusion. Several mommies were having trouble dropping off their little angels but not me! FREEEEEEEDOM! Just kidding....

Labor Day Visit

This past weekend Mamaw/Papaw Smith, Uncle Steve and Aunt Kathy came to see both Maggie and Brody. This was the first time any of them had seen Maggie since she was born. Although Maggie was cranky they still loved her. :)

Rooster Tail

Brody woke up Saturday morning with the worst hair do I have ever seen. We aren't sure what happened during the night to make his hair so wacky. It literally was standing straight up...
