Drake Family Grandchildren...

Last Sunday evening we all met up at Bryan and Debbie's house for a gathering of all the grandchildren. This was the first time for all five of them to be together since Maggie and Lyla have been born. It was great fun and some neat pictures were taken.

Maggie and Lyla. Would you believe Lyla is six weeks younger than Maggie and they are about the same size? Lyla is a growin' girl! :)

Fall Festival

This past Friday night we took the kiddos to our church's Fall Festival for fun and games. Brody wore a turtle hand-me-down costume from Emmy. He looked silly but he loved wearing the hat. Brody was happy as long as he had access to his candy bag. We were able to stay a hour and a half without him getting upset or bored. It was great!! Maggie did well too, she slept the whole time. :)

Our little family!

We tried to get Brody to look at the camera but he was too involved with his chocolate.

Again, we tried to get Brody to look at the camera.

They sold cool little glow in the dark necklaces and rings and of course Brody had to get one of each.

Gnawing on some candy. Don't worry Aunt Kathy and Shannon, we brushed Brody's teeth really well before he went to bed that night. :)

Brody and the iPod

I'm not sure what Brad is thinking by letting Brody play with his iPod. Oh well! We don't trust Brody with the small earphones so I dug around the house and found some bigger ones.

Sadly enough, Brody knows how to work the thing. Me? Not so much.
Brody and me.

Up Close with Maggie

I know these pictures are pretty much the same but I like them. So, I figured I would show them to you all too. :)

I really love her mouth and lips!

Maggie looks so silly here! We are working on sitting in the Bumbo chair to help strengthen her neck muscles. So far so good!

Pumpkin Patch

We took Brody and Maggie to a pumpkin patch at a church near our house today. It was fun except our oldest wanted to explore all over the patch and not want his picture taken. Ugggh! Oh well, maybe next year he'll let us get some cute pictures of him and Maggie. Here are several that we took.

Maggie and her hair!

Maggie's hair is literally standing straight up!

Bath Time

I finally started bathing Maggie in a bath tub instead of in the kitchen sink. She absolutely LOVES to kick and splash in the water. Maggie also loves to watch Brody play around too.

Brody likes to drink the bath water...gross if you ask me. Maggie seems to think it's funny though.
Brody has this thing of sticking his fingers in his throat and gagging himself! Why???

Here's looking at you kid!

Airshow

Here are some pictures taken from the airshow that Brad and Brody went to today. Uncle Brad, Tate and Papaw went with them too! Oddly enough, Brody wasn't very interested in the planes. We'll try the airshow again next year because I would like to go. :)

Playing with the toy planes Papaw bought them.

Shannon the photographer

My cousin Shannon popped in to see Brody and Maggie this afternoon while visiting some girlfriends here in Dallas. She has become quite the photographer with her nifty little camera. Here are some shots that she took of Maggie...Brody was taking a nap or we would have taken some of him too.

This one is my all time favorite.

Airplane Ears

Brad is taking Brody to an airshow tomorrow and bought him some ear protection. I'm wondering if the earphones can get any bigger. They are as big as his head! I'll post some pictures of the event tomorrow evening or Monday.

Last year we took Brody to the same airshow and it was great! We saw the Blue Angels and several bombers which was cool. Brody loved it until the fighter jets came flying right over us. We didn't have ear protection on him which was horrible. Poor guy! This year we are prepared!

Brady Bunch

These pictures sort of remind me of the opening scene of the Brady Bunch.
Here's the story of a lovely lady...
Here's the story of a man named Brody...
Why does Maggie look mad?
Ummm...you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friends nose.
Maggie seems to have this look on her face all the time. Brody looks like he has snaggle teeth.

Whiney Pants

Our sweet little Brody has officially hit the "terrible two's." He nearly kills us on a daily basis due to his acting out, hitting, throwing, screaming, whining, crying and pretty much everything else to test our patience. Brad and I pray everyday that God give us the patience and love to deal with Brody. We know that this time will pass, or so we are told. :) I'll be sitting through a Love and Logic seminar given at my church next month. I'm praying that it'll give me wonderful advice on how to communicate with Brody and how to help him understand us.

A stern warning from Dada. Poor Maggie! We've got over a year until we deal with her and the "terrible twos." :)
Dear Lord, please give me patience and grace in dealing with Brody. I beg You...
The picture speaks for it's self. :)

Maggie and Mommy

I don't like posting pictures of myself but here's one anyway. It really shows Maggie's crazy hair and her beautiful skin coloring. No, I don't fluff up Maggie's hair after her bath, it just automatically stands up. It's getting lighter by the day and is now a light auburn color.
